Do This Right Now (First 5 Minutes)
Get it out of the water immediately. Every second counts. Corrosion starts within minutes
Power it OFF. If the screen still works, shut it down. Do NOT try to check if it's working — turning it on while wet causes short circuits
Remove the case and SIM card. Open any ports or slots to let air in
Shake out excess water. Hold it port-down and gently shake. Gravity is your friend

The Rice Myth
Do not put your phone in rice. This is the most persistent bad advice in phone repair. Rice doesn't absorb moisture from inside your phone — it just wastes critical time. Worse, rice dust and starch can get into ports and cause additional damage.
